Bookcase Club Review Part 2 – Thrillseekers

As well as getting the Strange Worlds Bookcase Club box each month, I also get the Thrill Seekers box – what can I say? I like to read. And at $9.99/month for two books per box, I’d be daft not to.

White Plague – James Abel $26.95

The cover illustration alone for this one has me interested (maybe it is because it looks like it could be another Hunt For Red October) and on the inside of the cover there’s a map of the north of Canada and the Arctic Ocean. I love a good map on the inside cover of a book (think Lord of the Rings or the Game of Thrones books). Sleeve notes: ‘Adrift and in flames…’ is all I needed to read. I’m in!

The Drifter – Nicholas Petrie $16

‘Peter Ash – a veteran who finds that the demons of war aren’t easily left behind’. Sold. Also the fact that this is the debut novel by the author, and I really enjoy reading the first efforts of a new writer – it’s kind of like getting the #1 issue of a comic and following the story arc through. Excited to get into this.

As I think I say on every Bookcase Club review, the value at $9.99/month simply cannot be beaten – the two titles here had a combined cover price of $42.95. Beat that – bet you can’t, especially with the GET10 discount code that gives you 10% off your 1st order.
